Clay models, tin soldiers, dolls, dollhouses, dollhouse furniture and accessories, figurines, idols, all are nothing but miniatures. Some are simple regular ones, the others are more intricate and artistically made. Nevertheless, even if you are not a miniatures enthusiast, you surely have some across various types of them more often that you realize.

You can use miniatures as decorative pieces for home décor, gifts, collectables, souvenirs or any creative way you can think of. The real purpose of miniatures is to bring out the creative toils of human mind. You can begin you own miniatures collection depending on likes and interests. Say for example, if you like birds, you miniatures collection can very well have bird figures. If you like traveling, you can collect souvenirs from wherever you go and have a collection of multi-cultural miniatures (may be human figures)

Miniatures need not be of any particular material, though it is better to have such a collection that most of your collectable miniature are of same material. This way maintenance becomes easier and less expensive. On the other hand restricting your miniature collection to a particular material may cut down on the varying types of collectables you can add to it.

Though it is not necessary to add branded or expensive vintage miniature to your collection, adding them definitely adds value to it. Regardless of the cost, you miniature collection should speak of your interest.
